Goals & Objectives:
Bala Vihar offers us a
unique opportunity to expose the children to our rich religious and cultural
heritage during the formative years of their lives. Hindu Society feels a great
sense of gratitude to the parents for their trust in allowing the Bala Vihar
teachers to work with their children. We regard Bala Vihar as the most
important activity of the Hindu Society of Brazos Valley.
The foremost goal of Bala
Vihar is to instill Hindu values as well as a firm faith in the Lord. This will
be accomplished by teaching scriptures (Bhagwat Geeta, Ramayana, Bhagwatam,
Upanishads, Panchtantra, and related texts and commentaries) and celebrating
festivals.� It is expected that the
children will develop a strong Hindu identity and a sense of belonging to
2010-11 Session:
There will be Baalvihar class every Sunday
except on Puja days, excepting school holidays (Thanksgiving/Winter/Summer breaks).
Baalvihar will close for summer break after the May 9th picnic, and resume on August 29, 2010.
